Guram Nikolaevich Dolenjashvili
Guram Nikolaevich Dolenjashvili (Georgian: გურამ ნიკოლოზის ძე დოლენჯაშვილი; born March 9, 1943, Kutaisi, Georgian SSR) is a Soviet and Georgian artist and graphic artist. Honored Artist of the Georgian SSR (1985). Honorary Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts.
Biography
He was born on March 9, 1943, in Kutaisi, Imereti (Western Georgia). In 1968, he graduated from the Faculty of Graphics at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, having studied under Professor Lado Grigolia.
He is an Honored Artist of the Republic of Georgia and an Honorary Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts. He has been awarded the Order - Golden Cross "For Service to Art".
With his easel, he has visited Kamchatka and Chukotka, Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands, the White Sea coast, Yakutia, and Dagestan.
He draws on large-format paper with graphite pencil in strokes almost invisible to the eye.
He has participated in all-Union, republican, zonal, solo, and foreign exhibitions held in Australia, Austria, England, Argentina, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Vietnam, Germany, India, Iraq, Cambodia, Cyprus, Cuba, Mexico, Mongolia, the Netherlands, Nicaragua, Poland, Romania, the USA, France, Czechoslovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Yugoslavia, and Japan.
In the early 1990s, the artist had to leave Kutaisi and move to Moscow.
