Georgy Gennadyevich Fomiryakov

Georgy Gennadyevich Fomiryakov (born 1957, Cheboksary) is a Soviet and Russian artist, Honored Artist of the Chuvash Republic (2014).

Biography

Born on May 9, 1957, in Cheboksary. He is a graduate of the Art and Graphics Faculty of the Chuvash State Pedagogical Institute named after I. Ya. Yakovlev (1983). After graduation, he lived and worked with his wife in the city of Alatyr. Since the early 1990s, Fomiryakov has lived and worked in his ancestral village of Chiganary, Cheboksary district of the Chuvash Republic. He repurposed a traditional rural house for creative work, and in 2015, a new space was constructed with a dedicated art studio.

Artistic Activities

In 1985, his landscape “Winter in Dukhova Grove” was presented at the VI Zonal Art Exhibition “Big Volga” in Cheboksary. In 1985, he worked at the Repin Academic Dacha. He regularly exhibits his works in art exhibitions of various levels and organizes solo exhibitions in Cheboksary and other cities in Russia.

Titles and Awards

Honored Artist of the Chuvash Republic (2014). Laureate of the Mikhail Sespel Prize.
