Marina Lvovna Spivak
Marina Lvovna Spivak (born July 17, 1955, Leningrad) is a Soviet and Russian sculptor and artist.
Biography
She was born into the family of sculptor Lev Smorgon. Graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Serov Leningrad Art College (1977). She is a sculptor working with stone and metal, on many projects together with her husband, sculptor Alexander Pozin. She works in the field of the artist’s book. Since 1985, she has been a member of the Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) Union of Artists. Since 1987, she has been a member of the creative association 'Artists' Village — Kolomyagi-Ozerki-Shuvalovo.' Since 1977, she has participated in numerous exhibitions, symposiums, and sculptural projects in Russia and abroad (over sixty). She worked on the art-ecological project 'All for One Earth' (1990, San Francisco); at the sculpture department of the Polytechnic College (Birmingham); in Paris with Serge Planter.
She was one of the participants in a group project in the artist's book format — The City as an Artist’s Subjectivity, for which she created the composition 'City — Network' (2019).
She lives and works in St. Petersburg. In 2014, her home-workshop in Kolomyagi was seriously damaged by fire.
