Kurbanov Sukhrob
Kurbanov Sukhrob was born in 1946 in the Republic of Tajikistan. He graduated from the Surikov State Art Institute in 1971. He has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and a participant in international exhibitions since 1971. Since 1982, he has served as the Chairman of the Union of Artists of Tajikistan. He was named People's Artist of the USSR in 1990 and People's Artist of Tajikistan in 1986. He is a laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize of the USSR (1976), and twice a laureate of the State Prize named after A. Rudaki (1990, 1996). He is a professor at Tajik Technical University, the author of monumental sculptural works, and the designer of the state heraldry of the Republic of Tajikistan. He is also the art director of the 'Sukhrob Art Gallery'.

His works are held in the State Tretyakov Gallery, as well as in private collections in the USA, Germany, Finland, Kuwait, Greece, Afghanistan, Hungary, Iran, and Iraq.
