Sigov Alexander Ivanovich
Born on February 25, 1955 in Leningrad. Graduated from the Leningrad Art School named after V. A. Serov in 1975. Since 1994, member of the Union of Artists.

Author about himself
In one of his ten commandments, Salvador Dalí said: 'Do not fear perfection, you will never reach it.' Painting is what helps me come closer to this mystery, to this enigma. In life, when you reach a certain goal and understand the mystery of truth, disappointment often follows; but in art, there is hope to preserve this mystery, gaining insight into it every day.
Critic
By transferring the aesthetics and symbolism of images from the past into his works, Alexander Sigov creates his own coherent world, where the most subtle painterly relationships are conveyed with particular precision.
No matter which cultural tradition the author refers to, a refined sense of taste always accompanies him, whether it is a portrait reminiscent of the Renaissance or monumental and austere forms of Egypt.
The richness of color tone, diversity of painterly textures combined with compositional completeness, allow the artist to express a fusion of styles and images as a harmonious work.
