Critic

The artistic language and imagery of Elina Chelysheva's paintings can, so to speak, be measured by criteria of vital interpretation. She does not pursue 'novelty for the sake of novelty' in painting. But her works express the individual spiritual world of the artist. Each is dominated by a sense marked by youth, the charm of sincerity, and feminine grace. In a number of her works the essential, worldview-based attitude towards the depicted is already quite clearly visible. All this, it seems, will help the young artist in the future to avoid accidents in painting, the 'nakedness' of form, and to justify every detail, balancing her 'formulas of plasticity' with the overall artistic system of painting.
