Mironov Yuri Alexandrovich
Born in 1942 in Moscow.
In 1976 graduated from the Art and Graphic Faculty of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute named after V.I. Lenin.
Since 1983 - member of the group "20 Moscow Artists".
Since 1987 - member of the association "ARS".

Works are held in the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics, the "M'ARS" Gallery in Moscow, the Art Gallery in Yaroslavl, and in private collections in Russia, Austria, Australia, Italy, France, Germany, USA, Sweden, Yugoslavia.

Author about himself
Everything in my art begins with the landscape. To create my contemporary works, I had to go through a 'semi-realistic' school, a landscape. Thanks to this, now I confidently feel myself in the plane, I control it. The barrier has been crossed, I have broken through. I am free!
...For me, the primary thing is to reach a state, to strain myself and perceive it. The composition is not thought out in advance. I walk, walk, torment myself—and suddenly a lightning flashes, I see! I see in the darkness of the unknown! I start to work. I trust the feeling, not the mind. Intuition, not calculation. The color lays itself. It's as if it's not you, but someone is doing it through you. An amazingly happy feeling! It comes by itself. No questions or problems. Lightness. Freedom!
Critic
Yuri Mironov is a prominent figure in unofficial Moscow painting. From his first steps in art—he began painting in 1976—romanticism became a symbol of his faith. The tuning fork for his romantic-poetic dreams is often a mystical experience of the mystery of the surrounding world: then from the artist's brush appear landscape images in which the tradition of 19th-century German romantics and the masters of European surrealism of our century receives original interpretation. Another tuning fork for him can be a subjective feeling, a certain state of the soul, lyrical memory: in such cases, lyrical pictorial abstractions are born, whose emotional meaning does not exclude distant associations with external reality, but its depiction, as in a musical work, turns out to be unnecessary...
