Nasedkin Vladimir Nikitovich

Born on April 4, 1954, in the city of Ivdel, Sverdlovsk region.
In 1976 graduated from the Art and Graphics Faculty of the Nizhny Tagil State Pedagogical Institute. Studied under L. I. Perevalov and K. P. Cherepanov. Works together with his wife, artist Tatyana Badanina. Daughter, Anna Nasedkina (born 1978), is an icon painter.
From 1977 to 1989 taught at the Art and Graphics Faculty of the Nizhny Tagil State Pedagogical Institute.
Since 1975 began creative and exhibition activities. Has held about 30 solo exhibitions in Russia and abroad.
Since 1997 lives and works in Moscow.

Participated in international art exhibitions of contemporary art.

I love works where reality is actively assimilated, that is, where simple recognition is hindered by such representation that it teaches one to master it. The viewer should feel that someone else's will is not imposed or forced upon him. I try to elevate the role of the recipient of art. His perception should become as unique as the creative process itself. I think the artistic value of a work is determined by the combination of forms, colors, lines. The plot often interrupts the true action of painting, and at the same time helps to perceive the purely artistic merits and unifies them. My friends and I are often accused of destroying visual images, of incomprehensibility and even meaninglessness, but we liken art to poetry and music, where visual and plastic images are secondary and are not the essence of the work; visual images are just one of the means to evoke emotions. There are others, too: rhythm, color harmony, plasticity. I use understatement, incompleteness, aesthetic hint, striving for simplicity and clarity, avoiding analytical constructs, allegories, all kinds of symbolism and figurative language.

The watercolor series, engravings, and lithographs of Vladimir Nasedkin seem no more real in their content than mirages. At the same time, their shimmering, pulsating, dissolving-in-white-space colors and lines reflect very concrete experiences and impressions of the artist, who thinks a lot about his surroundings and has traveled widely across the country. There is no need to seek anything documentary or credible in his Altai, Karelian, Khakassian, Turkmen, or Ferapontov sketches and watercolors. What prevails in his works is above all a musical-poetic principle, completely alien to the slightest manifestations of naturalism or everyday lifelikeness. — V. Meiland
