Andrey Gennadyevich Pozdeev
Born on September 27, 1926, in the village of Nizhny Ingash, Krasnoyarsk Krai. In 1947-48, he worked at the Minusinsk Regional Museum named after N.M. Maryanov as an artist. In 1951, he graduated from the Surikov Art School (teacher - A.P. Lekarenko).

His works are held in the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the State Russian Museum in Saint Petersburg, and in art museums in Krasnoyarsk, Yakutsk, Norilsk, Omsk, Barnaul, Khabarovsk, Kemerovo, Bratsk, Novosibirsk, Chita, and Tomsk.

Author about himself
...I studied art in the museums of Moscow and Leningrad. I looked at paintings, learned, drew conclusions. But I never imitated! I tried to figure everything out myself; at the same time, I realized that the essence of my work would lie in the search for my own style... After my first solo exhibition in 1964, I understood that visual art is not a profession. It's life, a reflection of my 'self'...
Critic
For many years, artist Andrey Pozdeev and his work seemed to exist, yet not to exist. The official art of the 1960s-80s, accustomed to a certain way of expressing thoughts and feelings, ignored 'other' art, accusing it of cynicism, unseriousness, and mocking sacred things... Pozdeev’s art is difficult to perceive. The complexity lies primarily in the artist's creative method. His canvases are best viewed in cycles. In this way, the viewer gets a fuller understanding of the process behind creating a painting. A. Efimovsky
