Sapozhnikova-Duk Lyudmila Georgievna
Born on April 11, 1949, in Moscow. In 1978, she graduated from the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov.

Author about himself
Previously, I worked with monochrome materials such as brown sauce. I was not interested in achieving likeness to nature; that should happen by itself. My task was to conditionally convey the sensation of light, color, and inner mood...
Now I work in the pastel technique. In my work, I focus on combinations of pure color that I find in nature.
I am not an optimist. Life can be a very unpleasant thing when people introduce their arbitrariness into it. I need to remember that the Laws of the universe reign in the world; they are immutable and harmonious. They are the same for a ray of light as for our soul.
Wonderful works in all kinds of art have been created on the basis of the laws of nature. I am always delighted when before my eyes a ray of light turns into a rainbow spectrum or reduces all that is visible—illuminated and unilluminated—to two complementary colors, and a third participant—a black flower or a fiery apple—by its absence or excess brings everything to a conclusion...
