Citlidze Megi Leonidovna
Born on July 17, 1957, in Tbilisi. In 1983, she graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts with a specialization in painting. Since 1984, she has been working as a teacher in the Department of Painting at the same academy.

Author about himself
In my creative work, my main task, along with the composition of the painting, is color. With the help of "pure colors," I try to create color harmony. I seek a middle ground between tonal and contrasting painting, so unlike purely tonal painting, my color palette sounds more major. The generalized images in my paintings I try to enrich with half-tones, color values, striving to achieve color harmony.
Critic
The works of painter Megi Citlidze are chamber-like and lyrical in mood. Executed in a bright coloristic tonality, they reproduce a world of illusion and fantasy; and despite a certain narrative element, are devoid of any storytelling intonation. The main distinguishing feature of her works is the refined sense of color, the free painting technique, and the freshness in reproducing the real world. People in masks, harlequins, women with fans in masquerade costumes coexist harmoniously alongside fantastic animals. Sometimes, a fairy-tale landscape is included in the composition, and all this happens not through a pre-planned composition, but intuitively in the process of work. Golden, greenish, and blue color values materialize almost into realistic images, but at the same time, the conditional environment and exaggerated forms create a fabulous world, distinguished by a high sense of aesthetics and a refined color scheme.
