Aleksei Yurievich Belyaev-Gintovt
Aleksei Yurievich Belyaev-Gintovt (born November 2, 1965, Moscow) is a Russian artist. He adheres to the ideological views of Imperial Avant-garde and Eurasianism. Since May 26, 2014, he has been an active participant in the events in Donbass. He is a member of the International Eurasian Movement, led by Alexander Dugin. Belyaev-Gintovt is the winner of the 2008 Kandinsky Prize in the category 'Project of the Year.'
Biography:
He was born on November 2, 1965, in Moscow. In 1985, he graduated with honors from the Moscow College of Architecture and Construction (Residential and Public Buildings Department). From 1985 to 1988, he studied at the Moscow Architectural Institute (Faculty of Residential and Public Buildings). From 1988 to 1990, he studied at 'MIR 1' ('Workshop of Individual Directing') under B. Yukhananov ('Free Academy,' Moscow–Leningrad). In 1990, he headed the first cable television studio in Moscow. From 1990 to 1994, he was a member of the group 'Permafrost Laboratory' (with S. Kuskov and K. Preobrazhensky). In 1991, he took first place at the 'First International Festival of Video Art' (Leningrad). In 1992–1993, he was an artist for the interpretation art magazine 'Mesto Pechati.' In 1995, he received a grant from the International Association of Plastic Arts—AIAP (UNESCO), Paris. Since 1996, he has been a member of the movement 'New Russian Classicism,' St. Petersburg. In 1998, he founded the closed club 'Kray' (Moscow, April 1–September 1, 1998). From 2000 to 2002, he was a member of the group 'F.S.B.' ('Front of Quiet Wellbeing'), together with A. Molodkin. In 2002–2003, he was the stylist of the 'Eurasia' party. Since 2005, he has been a mentor for the Eurasian Youth Union. In 2008, Aleksei Belyaev-Gintovt was awarded the Kandinsky Prize in the category 'Best Project of the Year' for the exhibition 'Motherland-Daughter.' Since 2014, he has been an active participant in the events in Donbass. In 2017–2020, he was a member of the Public Chamber of the Union State of Russia and Belarus. In 2017, he headed the visual arts section of the Russian Art Union. Since 2023, he has been a member of the expert council of the 'Russian Dream' Movement.

Critic
Aleksey Beliayev Guintovt is one of the most prominent Moscow representatives of “New Seriousness”, which has arisen out of the non-existence in the beginning of the nineties on the banks of the Neva. Being wholeheartedly committed to this movement with its fragile aristocratism and perpetual supplication for the prolongation of the beautiful, Belyaev-Gintovt, nevertheless, compels one to think that the “New Empire Style” will naturally become the logical continuation of “New Classicism”.
His powerful imagery, in the Moscow way, paradoxically combines the traditions of Russian Orthodox icon painting with trends of the Russian Avant-garde and Constructivism, and the totalitarian classicism of the Soviet big style — with the formal “artificiality” of American Pop-Art.
However, precisely in this point does Belyaev-Gintovt, with the insidiousness of the true revolutionary-conservative, brilliantly refute the slightest suspicion about his alleged kinship with the predominating ideology of the total art-business, by impressing each image with his own palms and in so doing guaranteeing them indisputable authenticity.
The exposition Motherland — Daughter includes approximately twenty monumental objects. Pierced by the indomitable male desire to protect the weakened tormented Mother, Belyaev-Gintovt adopts the Motherland as a daughter, taking upon himself full responsibility for her future
