An asymmetrical form in the shape of a rolled-up Solomon's seal leaf. Smoky-colored, model-blown glass with freely attached applications, multiple cuttings, polished to correspond to the relief structure of the leaf. Possibly Emile Gallé, 1888. Signed "Cristallerie Emile Gallé Nancy" in a faceted, flower-like frame. H. 21.5 cm. The vase belongs to a group of vessels that Gallé designed in 1888 and first exhibited at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1889.
