Bronze foot and monogram of King Friedrich I or Friedrich II of Prussia. Tall, conical beaker made of dark red gold ruby glass with a cut lip; the bell-shaped foot made of gilded bronze with a twelve-sided rim and a stepped, hoop-shaped attachment for the cup. On the foot, the finely engraved, ligatured "FR" monogram of King Friedrich I (King from 1701-1713) or Friedrich II of Prussia (King from 1740-1786) under the Prussian royal crown. The foot rim and the cup attachment with finely chiseled decor. Glass height approximately 13.3 cm; total height 18.8 cm. Among the comparative pieces are two gold ruby glass flasks in the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) in Vienna, which have bronze feet that are approximately similar in shape and decor (inventory numbers GL 1341-1 and 1341-2; both purchased in an auction in 1878).
