Decorated with polychrome, opaque enamel painting depicting a distinguished gentleman with a drinking goblet, a flaming heart with chained hands as a symbol of friendship, and the motto "Everywhere friendship lives, no one strives for better" from 1689. The lip is extremely minimal. Excellent condition. Height: 6.5 cm. A German, most likely Saxon, polychrome enameled glass beaker with an allegory of friendship, motto, and date 1689. There is a tiny chip to the rim. German, probably from Saxony. Dated 1689.
