The KPM-Berlin Runde is a flat, dished form with a smooth edge. In the mirror, there is a gold-framed medallion reserve with an antique representation of a floating nymph with a gossamer veil, above her head a radiant star. White, extremely delicate, relief-like Pâte-sur-Pâte painting applied on a lemon-green glazed background. Surrounding border with rich relief gold ornamental foliage and ribbon work on delicate yellow and accentuated rose-colored background areas. Glaze crackle. Scepter and painter's mark. Diameter 35 cm. Successful combination of finely applied Pâte-sur-Pâte painting in thin layers and magnificent relief gold ornamental foliage. Numerous design drawings for elaborately decorated plate fans have been preserved from around 1900. Between 1880 and 1910, there were, among others, porcelain painters such as Gustav Kämpfer, Friedrich Wilhelm August König, and Martin Krahner, as well as later Adolf Flad, who specialized in relief gold and enamel decorations at KPM Berlin. Their stylistic repertoire ranged from historizing, arabesque foliage and ribbon work to linear Jugendstil patterns.
