At the beginning of the 20th century, Paul Helmig designed numerous figurative decorative vessels with sea nymphs, triton children, and sea creatures for the Meissen manufactory, including the ornamental bowl "The Wave" (model number R 176) and other various figure bowls with mermaids (model numbers T 54, S 156, W 135).
