The decoration consists of abstracted, large variations of flowers in a lustrous, polychrome glaze painting with dynamic brushstrokes. The form and decoration are both designed and executed by Volkmär Bretschneider. The painting is monogrammed with the initials "V.B." and dated "1991". It bears the crossed swords mark and measures 9 cm in height, with a body diameter of 13 cm. Bretschneider's expressive interpretations of flowers are free, lively arrangements and expressions of the so-called "New Flower Painting" in the Meissen Manufactory.
