A Nicholas I mid-19th century Russian silver gilt and niello vodka cup (charka), Moscow 1847 by ee possibly for Yefrem Yevdokimov. Of tapering cylindrical form with a rope twist edge, C scroll handle, niello foliate scrolls against a textured ground. Marked to the underneath for assay master Andrei Antonovich Kovalsky (active 1822-56). Height – 4.9 cm / 1.9 inches
