An antique Russian gilt silver cigarette case consisting of two hinged parts, both decorated with rich niello designs featuring floral and foliate patterns to the exterior. Inscribed with the engraved owners initials to the cover. Hallmarked in Cyrillic characters with the VO manufacturers initials mark and the AR assayers initials with the date 1891 below, as well as and 84 silver proof mark.
