On the surrounding wall, partially glazed deep-cut decoration: on the front, two angels holding a flower basket and roses, as well as a heart with the Jesus monogram "IHS", on the heart a standing cross; on the back, an inscription in Versailles script "Der Christen Herz Auf Rosen geht, Wenns mitten unterm Kreuze steht"; above the stand, a laurel border. Height 12 cm. The rose was Luther's favorite flower, which he combined with the cross as the "Luther Rose" in 1530, also used for his own signet ring, and explained its meaning as a coat of arms in the saying "Des Christen Herz Auf Rosen geht, Wenns mitten unterm Kreuze steht".
