On a high rock pedestal, in front of a winding wheel and a covered shaft, a composed group of three miners is depicted. In the center stands a commanding mine captain in a magnificent, adorned, and gold-embroidered parade uniform with golden epaulettes and tassels, holding a beard in his right hand. Flanking him are a mining official and a mining academy student in simpler uniforms. Polychrome painting with rich, partially etched gold decoration. Possibly by Theodor Eichler, around 1910. Model number F 211. Some restoration; sword mark. Height 29 cm. The versatile Meissen modeler Theodor Eichler (born 1868) created numerous genre figures representing various professions. The miners in this group of figures were based on prints by Gustav Wunderlich from the 1831 publication "Costumes of the Miners and Foundry Workers in the Kingdom of Saxony" by G.E. Rost.
