Ascending over a multi-tiered natural socle, adorned with plastic foliage and fruits, is an oak tree trunk serving as the base for a round, shell-shaped container with relief-decorated shells and a corresponding lid. As a crowning element, there is a fully plastic, scenic representation of a red deer lying on a stable roof, surrounded by a pack of hounds. Visibly blowing a hunting horn, a hunter in ochre-colored attire stands nearby. Based on a drawing by Johann Conrad Schlau. On both sides of the composition, there are cartouches crowned with Russian coat of arms or hunting emblems. The polychrome painting is enriched with lavish gold decoration. Originally designed for Elector Clemens August of Cologne, this hunting cup features a figurative depiction of a hunting event of the Elector from 1739, during which a red deer was driven and killed by a pack of hounds on a stable roof. Instead of the coat of arms of the Cologne Elector Clemens August, the cup is adorned with the Russian double-headed eagle with Saint George. Pietzsch, Parforce porcelain, p. 39f., and cat. no. 63.
