Ceramic. Oval, curved, richly sculpted form. Four voluted feet with paws, the profiled base zone with a surrounding ribbon band and applied acanthus leaves above the paws. On the sides, two plastic putti; on the wall decoration relief, consisting of two pictorial fields, flanked by mythological scenes with Venus and a loving couple, cupids, dolphins, and faun boys, accompanied by large acanthus motifs. Height 27 cm, width 53.5 cm. A probably Italian Castiglione de Lago painted and glazed earthenware jardinière. Likely Italy, Castiglione de Lago. End of the 19th century.
